Tab Trade — The Short Version
TabTrade went live in March 2026. Online broker incorporated in Saint Lucia, regulated by Saint Lucia's FSRA. The founder is Benjamin Boulter. Previously, he was on the executive team at BlackBull Markets, an FMA-regulated broker.
The BlackBull connection is relevant. It suggests the founder knows how a proper broker operates. That is not a guarantee. Still more reassuring than a founder with no industry background.
They launched with Equinix data centre access in London. Same data centres institutional desks use. The typical new launch starts with a white-label MT4 setup. Tab Trade did the opposite. Unusual for a new broker.
The instrument list: forex, stock indices, gold, silver, commodities, shares, cryptocurrencies, exchange-traded funds. 1,000+. For a broker this new, the breadth is solid.
Platforms
Available: MetaTrader 5, cTrader, and web trading. Two major platforms from one account. Many pick one platform. Having both makes a difference. Pick what suits your style.
MT5 is the default. Full charting, Expert Advisors, tons of scripts and indicators. If you have traded on MetaTrader previously, there are no surprises.
cTrader by Spotware is the more modern one. Cleaner order book. Faster charting. Native automated trading. A lot of traders like it better than MT5 once they try it.
Direct FIX connectivity is there for bots but is only on the VIP account ($25,000 to open). TradingView charting is reportedly in the works. That should be a good addition when it arrives.
What You Pay
Three account types: Standard, Edge, VIP.
Standard. Spread starts at 1.0 pips. Commission-free. Easy to track. No minimum deposit. Works for beginners.
Edge. Interbank-style spreads from 0.0 pips average. Commission of $3.50 per side. Total cost: spread plus $7 per lot round-turn. On majors, the actual interbank spread is frequently under 0.2 pips. So your all-in cost can sit under half a pip. That is hard to beat for a broker with $0 to start. Most brokers that offer pricing like this ask for $500 or $1,000 upfront. This broker requires zero deposit.
VIP. $25,000 minimum. FIX API, sub-20ms execution, custom pricing. Not for most retail traders. Ignore this one unless you run serious volume.
Execution Speed
This is where this broker stands apart. Equinix servers in London. Execution below 30 milliseconds on Edge. Below 20ms on VIP. These are proper execution targets. Most retail brokers quote a much wider range.
Should you care? If you trade small timeframes, absolutely. The gap between fast execution and sluggish execution is the difference between. If you trade higher timeframes, it matters less. But the fact that the infrastructure is there. That signals what kind of broker this is.
Combine that infrastructure with raw spreads at $3.50 per side and the total package holds up. Not many platforms in this bracket have infrastructure at this level.
Regulation
Now, the part that matters. TabTrade is under Saint Lucia's FSRA. That is offshore. No CySEC. No government-backed safety net. If operating without FCA or ASIC oversight makes you uncomfortable, look elsewhere. Plenty of FCA-regulated options out there.
However. Benjamin Boulter spent years at BlackBull Markets, a proper broker. The Equinix infrastructure costs real money. Dodgy operations do not pay for tier-1 data centre access. That does not guarantee anything. But be part of your decision.
